Meet the 19-year-old who won Miss Rwanda 2017 (Photos)

 19-year-old Elsa Iradukunda was on Saturday, February 25, 2017, named the Miss Rwanda 2017 in a tight competition from 15 finalists.

Iradukunda, a senior-six graduate from King David High School, who represented the Northern Province in the preliminaries, emerged the topmost contender for the beauty pageant which held at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village.

She defeated Guelda Shimwa, who came as the first runner-up, followed by Linda Umutoniwase and was crowned by Miss Rwanda 2016, Jolly Mutesiat.

For the first time in the history of Miss Rwanda pageant, all the 15 finalists were given full scholarships by the organizers to pursue undergraduate degrees at Mahatma Ghandhi University.

‘Ibrahimovic Is Like Me’- Manchester United Legend Cantona Says

Manchester United legend, Eric Cantona, has praised Zlatan Ibrahimovic for helping the younger players at the club.

Ibrahimovic has become a key player at Old Trafford, following his summer move from Paris Saint-Germain and leads in their goalscoring charts with 15 goals in 24 Premier League games.

Cantona says the 35-year-old is like him, in the way he tries to help youngsters develop.

“There are two kinds of older players, the ones that do not like the young ones because they want to play and they can destroy them, and the others who will help,” Cantona told the United’s official website.

“I remember when I was 17, I played with [Andrzej] Szarmach. He was Polish, he played in two World Cup semi-finals, he was a great player and he helped me so much.

“I remember this and said to myself when I am older, I will try to do the same, and I am sure Ibrahimovic does the same.

“He is very helpful for young players because he is a great player with a strong personality, and he is the right older player who wants to help the younger ones. It is very important to have an experienced player who gives examples to the other ones.

“He is a great player and a strong personality, he played for Milan, he played for Barcelona so he knows all the about the pressure, he understands it and he has proven that he is also a great man.”
